Our best friends from Miami, Jon and Jaya Sumanth, moved to beautiful North Carolina and we finally got the chance to visit them. The fall leaves were in full bloom. It was quite a bit colder than were used to, but it was great to spend some time with the Sumanths!
Teresa took Andrew for a short walk around the block. Within a few minutes it started downpouring! Scott rescued them halfway down the road with an umbrella, but not before they were soaked to the core. Andrew started out crying...but quickly turned to giggles once the rain was out of his eyes.
We braved flights from Orlando to Minneapolis to Hawaii to San Francisco to Memphis and back to Orlando...with a one year-old! It was wonderful spending all the time together, lying on the beach, hiking Diamond Head and visiting Pearl Harbor.
Andrew was an excellent traveler flying all the way to Chicago for the Graham House reunion. Scott lived with nine guys in the Graham House at Wheaton College. We started out introducing our girlfriends to eachother, but now we introduce our wives and kids! Here's Matt & son, Tad with two(!), Scott & Andrew, and Rags with his little girl.
Teresa helped Andrew give this bike seat to Daddy for Father's Day. Sometimes Daddy rides his bike to work and picks Andrew up from daycare on his carseat. Andrew absolutely LOVES to go zoom-zoom on the bike!
Sea World was a lot of fun! Andrew loved the animals, but mostly enjoyed seeing all of the kids running around. We sat in the "splash zone" for the Shamu show and got absolutely soaked. While Daddy & Mommy enjoyed the cool water to relieve the heat, Andrew cried like crazy. It was a fun day...I'm sure Orlando will have many more visits from the Simpsons.
It seemed like overnight that he grew so much! He's moved up to #2 diapers and into 6 month clothes. It's amazing how much he's grown. He'll sit up (with help), hold rattles, and talk to just about anything (in babbles). He absolutely loves going places now and seeing new things. We are both completely in love with this little guy.
Andrew has adjusted well to eating. His first food was rice cereal, but he has since moved on to Applesauce and Bananas. We have a feeling that there will be more eating pictures to come!
Daddy's attempts to learn how to surf has been replaced by this little guy. By the way, we still call him Andrew, though "Squirt" and "Binky" have been used quite a bit.
